Globally we are facing a growing gap between the incredibly wealthy and the very poor. When poverty is combined with uneven power structures a fertile environment for injustice is created. 

The March 1990 meeting of the Assembly Standing Committee of the Uniting Church in Australia resolved to approve the document "Why does the Uniting Church in Australia Ordain Women to the Ministry of the Word?"
