A blueprint for Australian advocacy to end the death penalty

UnitingJustice Australia has joined Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Human Rights Law Centre, Reprieve Australia, Australians Detained Abroad, NSW Council for Civil Liberties and Civil Liberties Australia to launch a new Australian blueprint to end the death penalty.

The Australian Government has been outspoken in its condemnation of state sanctioned killings in Indonesia, but it could play a larger role opposing the death penalty globally. The blueprint is a call to the Government to strengthen its advocacy for the abolition of the death penalty, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, irrespective of the nationality or crime of the person being sentenced.
