About

UnitingJustice Australia is the justice unit of the National Assembly of the Uniting Church in Australia, pursuing national matters of social and economic justice, human rights, peace and the environment.

The Uniting Church in Australia is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia and the first church to be created in and of Australia. On any Sunday more than 2,500 congregations worship at a Uniting Church including many congregations that worship in languages other than English.

The Triennial Assembly is a meeting of just under 300 members of the Uniting Church in Australia, elected from across the length and breadth of the country by Synods and Presbyteries.

The theme for the 13th Assembly was Life Overflowing. Suggested by President Rev. Professor Andrew Dutney, the expression is drawn from John 10:10: "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (NRSV).
